NATURAL
Mirko Canesi
29.05.–1.06.2025
What we call “natural” is not only what belongs to the biological world. The exhibition reflects on society’s progressive detachment from reality and the urgency to reconnect with primary, rhythmic, solid forms.
The Greek key, reinterpreted in a brutalist manner using grey concrete, becomes a tool of sublimation: a line that repeats, absorbs, returns. Through this process, the work merges with the artistic gesture to be reintegrated into personal psychic experience.
Mirko Canesi (born 1981, Milan) is an Italian artist presently residing and working between Brussels and Milan. Working with sculptures and installations, the themes of his research include anthropocentrism, ecology, and reality, pursuing the utopian idea of de-powering humans.
